Apron Strings
By Rev. Dean Beaty 5/13/12
Proverbs 31:28 “Her children arise up, and call her
blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.” (KJV)
The symbol of love is a heart
Should not an apron have its part?
An apron reminds me of mother’s care,
Although today it’s very rare.
Worn with pride at every meal.
Oh the sacrifice it did reveal.
Every meal was a delight,
For she knew how make them right.
Her apron wiped the tears away.
She shook it high to call from play.
It cleaned with vigor a dirty face
And proudly worn when we said grace.
Aprons were good to hide behind.
It always brought us peace of mind.
Aprons are good for cleaning ears
Or wiping eyes when there were tears.
When meals are no longer made by hand,
How long will the family stand.
So much love is missing today
Because the apron has gone away.
