a steady stream of water will, in time, erode the hardest rock...david campbell

moisture will eventually cause the hardness of a rock to dissipate. that is also true of the combination of hardness and moisture of our inner being. the moistness within our soft qualities will cause our inner hardness to disappear. where do we find the moisture to soften our inner being? the divinity within us is the source of that moisture which generates the soft qualities and makes the hardness melt.

the soft moist qualities in us include kindness, love, goodwill, meekness, gentleness, peace, joy, goodness, love, patience, self-control, and perseverance. in the presence of these qualities there is no hardness within us. those soft qualities are the steady stream of water that will, in time, erode the hardest rock.

our emotional and mental health depends on a steady stream of moisture from the divine presence in us. however, hardness in our thoughts and emotions will cause the creation of personalties that devise bad intentions to others in the society. their mind is full of cruelty, hatred, and evil motives. in essence, they are mentally ill with emotional issues. with a steady supply of moisture from the soft qualties, the mind feels at peace and the emotions feel love and goodness. a steady stream of water will, in time, erode the hardest rock.

we may feel insecure within ourselves like a rock under the weight of a hammer. that happens because influences in the environment leave you out to dry in the hot and burning sun. you are exposed to uncomfortable and threatening situations. however, when there is an atmosphere of gentleness, meekness, and peace our inner being will melt into a place of comfort, love, and tranquilty. a steady supply of those qualities will make us feel safe and secure. a slow and steady stream of water will, in time, erode the hardest rock.

hardness in our relationship to others cause us to refuse the acceptance of others with love and peace. we come across as hateful or quarrelsome. that hardness isolates individuals, is intolerant, and unwelcoming to those who seek the inner divinity. however, when we open ourselves to the divine presence in us the moisture of love, tolerance, peace, and acceptance lives. a steady stream of those qualities will, in time, erode the hardest rock.

the hardness in us shuts out the value we feel for ourselves and others. that hardness cause us to feel no esteem within us and derive no value for others, which leads to tragic outcomes. being hard inwardly makes it difficult to feel loved which creates hostile behaviors to self, and to others. only when we feel a steady stream of love, kindness, and goodwill can our egos open to receive esteem from one another. that brings honor, respect, and esteem to one another. a steady stream of those waters will, in time, erode the hardest rock.

when our self-expression becomes hardened that is a sad, faithless communication full of evilness. a person with a hard way of expressing self does not have kind or loving words to edify others with. words and behavior that are loving, peaceful, and perseveres with faith are steady streams of moisture. a steady stream of water will, in time, erode the hardest rock.

some people want to deny the moisture from streaming into our inner being. they want to harden our inward soul so that the divinity of our goodness no longer exists. they want to harden our feelings of peace to make us feel anger instead. they want to harden our joy to fill us with sadness and depression. they respond to the moisture in us like throwing a bag of cement powder into water. however, acceptance of a moist, soft quality is the only path to love, peace, faith, and self-control.

the divinity of our inner being is the source that generates the moisture within us. the moist qualities of that divinity is the softness in us, such as kindness, goodwill, gentleness, meekness, joy, goodness, self-control, and patience. a steady stream of those qualities will soften the hardest soul. a steady stream of water will, in time, erode the hardest rock.
