Missing .dll File
5/14/2011 9:11:45 PM
Welcome friends & visitors

I
f you get a message that says a .dll file is missing do a search for the file.
If it's there you can get it to work by following the steps below!

Missing .dll file

Somehow the .dll was deactivated, sometimes this happens when a new software or application are installed. With WindowsXP Microsoft provides a way to re-activate the .dll files called Regsvr32.

If you get a missing .dll or
missing ActiveX message, first do a search for the file. If you find it, then go to Start/Run and type in "regsrv32 [space] name.dll" then hit OK.

Here's an example below:
If the missing .dll name is howdy.dll and you found it,
Type in
» regsrv32 howdy.dll

Hopefully this will solve your problem!

Have a great weekend

I once spent two days trying repair a computer with that file missing. I can't remember how I fixed it, but it's a hassle when it happens. Thanks for the tip!
