It's harder now to bring your own bait when you go fishing. DEC has said no to transporting live bait without a recipe from a certified bait shop. This is to stop the spread of diseases and from moving bacteria from one body of water to another. Everything is done for a reason and this was done because of studies. You can get your bait fish from your fishing source.
