THE "SIN TAX" (Sumptuary Law)
10/18/2010 4:26:31 PM

Sumptuary laws are laws that attempt to regulate habits of consumption.

Legislators impose excise taxes on cigarettes, liquor, etc.

This type of charge, called a "sin tax," appeals to voters who view these products

as deadly or harmful to consumers and seek to discourage consumer consumption.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF SIN

The Holy Bible says,

For the wages of sin is death,...(Romans 6:23).

Jesus Christ said,
"I tell you the truth,
everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
(John 8:34).

A man is a slave
to whatever has mastered him.
(2 Peter 2:19).

Has sin mastered you?
