Your Bible Speaks of You

Psalm 119:119&127 “Thy word is a lamp
unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
I love thy commandments above gold;
yea, above fine gold.” (KJV)
Your Bible will speak loud,
If of the Savior you are proud.
Are the golden edges bright,
And the pages all just right?
Not a rip there nor a tear.
Because it’s seen so little wear
How can it still look brand-new,
If you’ve read it through and though?
No wrinkles are found there.
And it doesn’t need repair.
All week long it’s left unread,
Have you done what God has said?
There’s no verses underlined,
And no smudges you can find.
Not a page has been tear-stained,
Perhaps salvation has been feigned.
If it looks new when you die,
Over you, your kids may cry.
But they’ll know not what God said,
For His Word was left unread.
