The Holy Bible says,

Do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.

(Matthew 23:9).

The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, ..."Who can forgive sins but God alone?"

(Luke 5:21).

Jesus Christ said, "But that you may know that the Son of Man (Jesus is the Son of Man, Matthew 26:64)

has authority on earth to forgive sins...." (Luke 5:24).
