Chili

I just made a pot of chili today and it really hit the spot now that it is colder outside. (I live in the midwestern part of the U. S. so winter is upon us.)

1 # ground beef (vegetarians can skip this)

1 can pinto beans

1 can mild chili beans

1 can tomato sauce

1 can diced tomatoes

1/2 can water

1 handful of your favorite pasta

chili powder to taste

red pepper to taste

Instructions:

Brown the ground beef in a skillet, then drain off the fat. Put the beef in a large pot. Add all ingredients except the pasta and bring to a boil. Turn down the heat and let the ingredients simmer for about 15 minutes. Stir frequently. Add the pasta. Continue to simmer until the pasta is done. Eat and enjoy!

Hi Donna,

I make Chili just about like you do, except I never heard of putting in pasta. But add green peppers and onions to my chili. Don't really have a recipe, but it is good.
Read what Maxine has too say.
Hugs,
Myrna

That's a cute cartoon, Myrna. In the midwest we add a little pasta to our chili, not much, though. I have never added onions although that would taste good. My husband doesn't like onions. I love them!
