Fettuccine Alfredo

This is a different recipe for fettuccine alfredo that some I have seen. I haven't tried it but it sounds easy and quick. You could add white meat chicken cut up into bite size pieces if you need protein.

Ingredients:

8 oz. uncooked fettuccine
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup whipping cream
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Directions:

Cook fettuccine according to package directions, omitting salt. Drain well, place in a large bowl.

Combine butter and whipping cream in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat until butter melts. Stir in cheese, pepper, and parsley. Pour mixture over hot fettuccine. Toss until fettuccine is coated.

Hi Donna,

Seeing this recipe brings back memories. On a trip to New York citty back in 1994, I tried fettuccine alfredo for the 1st time. Well the plate I got was so huge, I could only eat about 1/3rd of it. I laugh every time I think of the size of that meal.
This looks like the one I had only much more and it had peas and carrots in it.

Yummy, Myrna. Thanks for the picture to brighten up my forum! My husband likes fettuccine alfredo, but I haven't tried it because I am lactose intolerant. I think I could eat a small portion so may try it some day.
