Lori Piestewa was the first Native American that died in the Iraq campaign to remove Iraq dictator ~ Saddam Hussien.

I was blessed to be tuned to Extreme Makeover; where Ty Pennington, lead a crew of volunteers in buiding a home for Lorie's family and a community center on the same site for Native American Veterans.

The site was donated and the peak of the mountain has a special marker immortalizing Lori.

My goose bumps gets goose bumps reminiscing this special project and tribute to Native American Lori Piestewa.

The Lori Ann Piestewa Sunrise Memorial Service took place at 6:30 AM on March 23, 2005 at a ramada at the base of Piestewa Peak.
