Online Scams.

Do you get lots of emails daily with people from all over the world trying to get you interested in their new programs? Ever wondered if among them, there might be an honest opportunity? Lets try to find the 'gold' among the scams, frauds, & down right illegal spam arriving daily. I ahve been researching quite a lot of these lately, & one doing the rounds at the moment is called surf junky. On the surface it looks like a good opportunity. Get paid to surf... However, it seems that for some reason, this is a total scam, they don't ask you to pay anything to earn, though an upgrade is mentioned. However they do try to get you to sign up lots of people to surf. Now a few of my online friends have gone out & really promoted this program, some have got 2-300 sign ups & aquired a lot of $'s in their accounts, but.... Their accounts suddenly are empty & their sign-ups have vanished. Also, there are a lot of virus infected sites in their rotatation, so unless you have a very high virus protection set-up (Not the free ones) Don't use this program. Just this week alone I personally found 20 virus's on this traffic site. All of them were caught by our high security virus protection software. Others have not been so lucky. So if you get an email or a friend tells you about this marvellous new site to earn money. Tell them about what we've found out about it. I will also post some of the 'phising emails around at the moment later. Here is most of the URL for Surf junky, I don't advise you joining it. http://www.surfjunky.com I have taken my refferal id of it, as I do not want anyone trying to blame me if they don't believe this warning......

Anthony, What they are probably doing is capturing peoples email addresses. There are two reasons for this, Spam and then the placement of Trojans to track their internet activity so they will know their interests and what advertising to send them. A good virus proctection like you have will prevent this from happening. It should include a pop up blocker. I have noticed many sites of the AdlanPro members have pop ups. When I visit one of these sites, I do not return to it. On the phising emails, if you find one that is from a AdlandPro Member copy it and send it to Bogdan, he will remove their membership. There is a net site set up for fighting internet Scam Artist. http://www.letsgeteven.net/?JK100181 You may want to look at it! James & Billie http://www.abusinessdecision.com/james

More Updates on Surf Junky. Thank you Brian & to James & Billy for your replies on this 'Official' scam. Some good friends of mine who run a very ethical free traffic exchange have contacted me & informed me that they to have been burned by Surf Junky. They have also posted on their site that all ads for this program will be deleted in the next few hours, & anyone trying to re-advertise it will lose their memberships. The site that Brian mentions in his post. http://www.directfraud.com Is one that I personally have belonged to for sometime now. it is a good source for finding out the newest scams out there. More updates on the 'phising emails' will follow, unfortunately the spam folder that I saved them to got 'emptied' over the weekend before I could copy them, but no doubt more will be arriving today in one of our various email post box's. As soon as I find them, I will post them. Most are quite obvious, however I did receive a couple which looked very offical from ebay, even ebay were stunned by them. They are total fraud scams & I believe from what ebay told us, they are trying to find the originator of this email & prosecute them. Here is the email, the main reason we knew it was fake, is because the address it was sent to is one we use for emails 'in,' it has never been used for emails 'out'. So we knew we had not subscribed to anything with that address. Email Header: Subject: =?koi8-r?B?QWNjb3VudCBWZXJpZmljYXRp?= =?koi8-r?B?b24=?= Date: 2/14/2005 11:42:24 A.M. Pacific Standard Time From: aw-confirm@ebay.com Reply To: aw-confrm@ebay.com To: contactus@ptsuniquegiftshop.com Email Body: Dear eBay Community Member, It has come to our attention that your eBay Billing Information records are out of date. That requires you to update the Billing Information If you could please take 5-10 minutes out of your online experience and update your billing records, you will not run into any future problems with eBay's online service. However, failure to update your records will result in soon account termination. Once you have updated your account records, your eBay session will not be interrupted and will continue as normal. Failure to update will result in cancellation of service, Terms of Service (TOS) violations or future billing problems. To update and login to your eBay account, click on the link below: http://cgi4.ebay.com/ws/ Thank you for using eBay! **This is no-reply message. Please do not reply to this email, as you will receive no response** As you can see this is almost a month old now, but we did receive two more emails after this which were passed on to Ebay. If you click on the link (Not advised) the page you are directed to is authentic to the last detail, there is even a fraud warning link, which tells you how to spot fraudulent emails from ebay. This is where we got our second clue, as the email address the message is sent from is 'not official' If any of you where unlucky enough to receive this email DO NOT follow the instruction, instead, send it to. "eBay Customer Support" rswebhelp@ebay.com More later. Anthony.
