Mindbender #1 - King of the Castle
11/22/2005 12:12:13 AM
Hi: In the Soapbox Thread, I asked three questions. If you haven't replied to them, you can if you want - or you can just jump right in here. Mindbender #1 - King of the Castle "I'm the King of the Castle..." Did you ever chant that as a kid? I think it's a common kid's chant for British, American & Canadian kids, but I'm not sure how widespread it really is. In a lot of business arenas, there's a clear "king of the castle" - Operating systems? Bill Gates. - Fried Chicken? Colonel Sanders The names aren't important. The concept is. There's a subject. And there's a king of the castle. Now... here's the game. The subject --> is whatever YOU sell. Pretend YOU are the king of the castle. Describe your reach. Bend your mind. Put away your "just little old me" mindset and develop illusions of grandeur for this game. Play pretend. Think BIG. If you were the king of the castle in your area, if you were to your arena what Bill Gates is to operating systems, what would be your reach? Describe it. Be crazy. Bizarre. Think as BIG as you can. Game? What I show you afterward can make a HUGE difference in your business growth and profit. I promise. Go.... : ) Linda P.S. Don't hesitate to add something because it sounds "too grandiose." There is no such thing in this game.

Hi Linda, I love pretend, I play it with my grandaughter all the time. Ok, here goes. My business is Debs-Kids.com an online business that sells namebrand kidswear at deep deep discounts. I am selling to people all over the world. Retailers are coming to me to buy my clothes in huge quantities. I can advertise knowing that when I do, I will have more orders than I can handle. I give to charities on an ongoing basis, not only cash donations but my clothes also. If there is a need I fill it, whether I get paid or not doesn't matter if someone is in need. I am in a position that I can give. I feel good about myself, because I am succeeding. I am "King of the Castle" of Debs-Kids.com.!! Yea Me!! Your Friend Deborah

Hi! Yea Deb! NOW we're starting to see what I'm looking for. Let's take it bigger... I'll italicise yours and add to it. --My business is Debs-Kids.com an online business that sells namebrand kidswear at deep deep discounts. --I am selling to people all over the world. Retailers are coming to me to buy my clothes in huge quantities. --I can advertise knowing that when I do, I will have more orders than I can handle. --I give to charities on an ongoing basis, not only cash donations but my clothes also. --If there is a need I fill it, whether I get paid or not doesn't matter if someone is in need. I am in a position that I can give. --I feel good about myself, because I am succeeding. -- If you go to a flea market and see people selling clothing, they probably buy them from me -- Hand decorated jeans are a hot item on ebay and at craft shows, so crafters are buying jeans from me to decorate and sell -- There are people that have ebay kids stores and they buy their clothing from me in lots of six or twelve (and more) and sell them individually on ebay -- Companies purchase discount clothing from me as charitable donations, which creates goodwill for them and provides for the needy. -- I have been featured in newspapers and magazines for the help we are providing to the needy through lost cost kids wear. -- I have made a real impact in regard to providing for needy kids and that just feels good! -- I have been featured in women's magazines as a home business success story. Can anyone think of more?
