RATTLESNAKES AND MICE
By Rev. Dean Beaty 8/7/09
II Timothy 3:13 “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse,
deceiving, and being deceived.” (KJV)
A farmer had a mice problem they were running all about.
So he bought some rattlesnakes and turned the vipers out.
They ate up all the mice they found but then began the strife.
They also bit the farmer’s kids, the farmer and his wife.
True, this was a cure for mice but at an awful price.
The internet is just the same, so take some good advice.
Anyone who’s been online will tell you to beware.
Children, if unmonitored, can go just anywhere.
Ads to meet from predators and vile pornography;
You do not have to search it out; it’s there for you to see.
Yes, there is good mixed with the bad, but is it worth the price,
To put yourself in jeopardy, just to kill some mice?
Rattlesnakes cannot be tamed, their nature is to bite.
The internet is full of snakes. Don’t play with dynamite!
Evil men grow worse and worse, there’s nothing they won’t do.
So don’t invite them in your home or they will turn on you.
Why is it called the “inter-NET”, but to snare those unaware?
Be careful where your family treads and cover them with prayer.
“I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes:”* is what the psalmist said.
The internet is a rattlesnake; beware or you’ll be dead.
*Psalm 103:3 “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them
that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.” (KJV)
