“Finally, My Brethren, Rejoice in the Lord”
By Rev. Dean Beaty 8/7/09 Philippians 3:1
Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.”(KJV)
“Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.”
This is not a suggestion, for the Christian there’s no choice.
Should we find it difficult to rejoice in Christ our Lord?
Just count up all the blessings your Father has outpoured?
Maybe that’s the problem, when rejoicing is a chore.
We’ve not counted all our blessings and totaled up the score.
Some just think of heaven as a joy that yet awaits.
Then they’ll start rejoicing, when they enter heaven’s gates.
But that’s off in the future, maybe fifty years or more.
There are blessings in the present; those we should explore.
God’s Word to give us guidance and explain the paths we trod.
There’s daily sweet communion that brings us nearer God.
We never need appointments to God’s wondrous Throne of Grace.
We’re told to come there boldly at any time or place.
The promise of His Spirit as companion, teacher, guide.
Until this life has ended, He faithful will abide.
Assurance of the future that we’re on the winning side.
The love of Christ our Savior as a husband for His bride.
So, have you been rejoicing in all your gifts from God
You better do it quickly before it is outlawed.
