While our log home was being built here in the North Carolina mountains, I found myself collecting all the log shavings when the builders were drilling holes to connect the logs.  I didn't know why; I just collected bags of shavings and saved them.

Since we moved into our new home several months ago, I have felt inspired to save every bloom from ever flower and herb I have grown here.  I could not bring myself to allow one bloom to go unsaved... and I have been drying them to make potpourri.

I didn't know why until just several days ago when I was making a Lavender sachet for my sister and my mother.  I decided to add some of the home made potpourri and the log shavings (scented with Lavender) to the Lavender sachet... and it was BEAUTIFUL!  They loved it.

Since I had ordered several pounds of Lavender buds harvested in France, I felt inspired to combine the Lavender and the potpourri with dried herbs and citrus and log shavings, all scented with Lavender essential oil, and...
