It's Time To Congratulate JOYCE PARKER-HYDE, the 199th POTW!
7/29/2009 10:34:20 AM

Congratulations To The 199th POTW:  Joyce Parker-Hyde!

                       http://community.adlandpro.com/go/031849/

I have to start this by saying that I am just flabbergasted that anyone thinks I'm at all interesting.  I don't really do anything-I'm always doing something- but I'm pretty much the only one interested in what I'm doing.  But when asked a question, I do my best to give the best answer I can, so here goes.

I was born in a bygone century.
Way back in the olden days, in March 1949.That meant that peoples' views of life was beginning to be shaped by television and by advertising in particular-which is why we find ourselves today in a forum called AdlandPro!

Everything about me is a contradiction, a perplexity and a whole lot of words that I can't spell.  I'm a country girl, raised as a city girl, who after returning home from a twenty year odyssey from the south (Louisiana) to the west (California) to the East (New York)-find myself having to discover my country roots to survive returning to a town where everything had  been literally swept away.

It's difficult to talk about the event that happened 8/29/2005 because most people think its' something that happened-get over it. I would love nothing more, but the entire footprint (I learned that there was such a thing) was changed when after the waters receded and the re-population started.
When I left in 1984, the number of people was about 553,000. Not a bad number, but it was shrinking and the ones left were aging; the young ones
in large numbers under educated. I understand that it has grown back to about 400,000 give or take a few digits. This is important because the money to get things done-evidently-follows the numbers. I only hear about these things because the television has to be on in case something starts to stir out in the Caribbean that will blow our way.

I dabble online with a little bit of this and a little bit of that.  I try not to get too attached to anything because at any moment between June 1 and November 30, I could have to drop everything and re-locate to safety. That means everything goes down, electric, computers-whatever; then you come home and start all over again. The Internet moves much too fast to keep up.

So, I plant things, I paint things, I recycle (I'm presently painting pictures on old tires to use as planters since I've been hit 5 times by flower pot bandits).
This week my side porch is being torn out and replaced-it was blown to pieces on Dec 12 when a tornado came to my house-no one else seemed to know it had been to town.
The back fence was replaced last week-I think hurricane Gustav took that one out-I can't recall.
I feed stray cats. I talk to people passing by who remember my mother taking care of their kids or grand kids when the basement of this house was a nursery school.
Also wiped out on 8/29/2005.

So that's pretty much all there is to know about me at the moment.
My current online projects that I'm really liking are:

Netbug Advertising
http://urldr.net/aj12

This one I like because it makes sense. If you can't beat em join em-all of us watch videos everyday, whether we even want to or not-why not get paid to do it?

Accelerated Niche Profits
http://urldr.net/ak11

This one I like because the young guy who built it is so cute.(I'm a mom-what can I say!)
Big World Ads
http://urldr.net/ak09

I am supporting this one because the owners of this ad site rented it to a couple who disappeared. Something awful could have happened to them-nobody knows;anyway, the couple who own it, tried everything to find the missing couple, almost just shut it down out of frustration-thought better of it and decided to run it themselves to keep innocent people from getting hurt.
Those are my kind of people.

And finally ...
Orange Leads
http://urldr.net/ab71

Tim Drobnick seems to have one of those genius minds that can see things that are not there-and then 'make' them-so not only can other people see them-but use them.

That's it for now.

Thanks Kathleen and Thomas for all your work.

Dearest Joyce,

I am so happy to see you as our Queen. Love your bio, you are so neat. Wishing you a wonderful week of joy. Most of all I would like to say in the last several months I have just gotten  to know you and enjoy your friendship so very much.  Any one who is good friend to cats is a special friend of mine.

Joyce may you never, ever have to go through another storm.
