THE SACRIFICE OF LOVE By Rev. Dean Beaty 5/12/09 John 15:13 “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (KJV) Where is there a greater love than that which is from God? Does it not behoove us then to spread His name abroad? God sent forth His only Son to die on Calvary, To make the only sacrifice to God for you and me. How it must have hurt our God to see His Son in shame. Covered with the sins of man, He thus our sin became. He who knew no sin Himself became that sin for me.* Thus by His willing sacrifice I’m cleansed eternally. There is no greater sacrifice than that which Jesus made. He shed His blood on Calvary and now my debt is paid. Then Christ arose from out the tomb; alive forevermore. Soon God will send Him back again, His kingdom to restore. Have you claimed Him as you Lord by faith in His shed blood? Ask Him now to cleanse your sins beneath that crimson flood. By faith alone that Christ can save, your sins are washed away. And you’ll be made a Child of God to live with Him someday. * II Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (KJV)
