The Whole Armor of God
By Rev. Dean Beaty 5/04/09
Ephesians 6:10-11 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,
and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God,
that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (KJV)
Don’t try to battle Satan if you are not prepared.
If you’re not fully dressed you just may end up snared.
God tells us of His armor that a soldier is to wear.
Though it’s not put on, along with these is prayer.
First, gird up your loins with truth found in God’s word.
The breastplate of righteousness must firmly be secured.
The Gospel of God’s peace with which your feet are shod.
The helmet of salvation, which is the Word of God.
Also the shield of faith to quench Satan’s fiery darts.
The also have great courage to finish what one starts.
The sword of the Spirit, which is God’s Holy Word,
This one offensive weapon makes victory assured.
We’re told three times to “stand.” We’re not to turn our back.
There is no armor there to protect against attack.
“Greater is He within you than he that’s in the world.”*
“The battle is the Lord’s,”* so keep His flag well unfurled.
I John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:
because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”(KJV)
I Samuel 17:47 “And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth
not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S…”(KJV)
