How does music impact your life?
5/7/2009 11:10:23 AM

I'd love to hear how music has impacted your life.

  • What do you listen to and why?
  • What songs bring pleasant memories?
  • What was your favorite concert memory?
  • Who would you love to see play live that you have not seen?

Here is one you can have lots of fun with:

  • If you were a record producer what music would you produce?

Assume the world is your oyster and you have no limits of any kind. Just go with the flow and make the record of your dreams. I'm all ears.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts.

Yours, Todd Canedy

Todd - I am a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the world's largest male singing society.  I have sung in many very good Barbershop quartets and am currently singing with the Narragansett Bay Chorus, Providence, Rhode Island, one of the top (Barbershop) choruses in the country.

We are going to compete with the other 29 best choruses in the world in July in Anaheim, Calif., similar to American Idol!

Here is a link to our chorus web site: http://www.singnbc.com

Harmoniously yours,

Phil,

That is fantastic.

Vocal music has played a huge roll in my life too. Both parents taught music and choir rehearsals were almost daily for some group from minstrels to mens ROTC choir. SIU go Salukis.

My dad always played Four Freshmen records at home.

Your barbershop quartet activity is great. Being among the best shows love and dedication.

I wish you the best of the best.

Why I listen to music, to relax. I love just about every kind of music except rap that has profanity in it. I think they should ban them from using profanity in it. But they have there rights to, enough about that.

Well since Michael Jackson passed I have been looking at his old videos a lot lately. I found quite a few last night on youtube, YOU can see them here.

In the words of Berry Gordy at his memorial. He is the Greatest entertainer of all times. I believe he is the greatest, he was so talented and gifted. It just doesn't feel like he's gone, but he is.

My favorite concert memory was when I was at The Commodores concert back in the 70's and I passed out from over excitement. I was alright and was able to see them. I had a huge crush on Lionel Richie and still do.

I love music and I love concerts. I really can't pick, I want to see everyone.

Hi Todd (and friends!)

I've always really liked BigBand/Swing, I found some Glenn Miller music, he's not on the video but the NICHOLAS BROTHERS are red hot on this, they do some moves my cats can't even do:
