Proverbs 6:16-19 “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea,
seven are an abomination unto him: a proud look, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked
imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness
that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” (KJV)
The sin of pride is an insidious sin.
It holds back the power of God’s Spirit within.
Its subtle approach is not always known.
It moved Satan’s heart to sit on God’s throne.
“But my sin of pride is not very strong.”
“I can control it, so what can go wrong?”
If pride is unchecked its roots will grow deep
And the harvest of pride you surly will reap.
The thought now and then; “I’m better than they.”
Satan’s foot’s in the door and you are his prey.
So subtle his tactics that we’re unaware.
We’ll not see it as sin if we don’t take care.
But God knows our heart and He calls it sin.
He knows it is where more sin will begin.
Put a check on your pride while it is still small
Or it will take over all and cause you to fall.
