THE LORD, MY SHEPHERD
By Rev. Dean Beaty 4/6/09
Psalm 23:1 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Lord, teach me contentment in what you provide.
Also each day in the way that you guide.
You’re not just a God who reigns on a throne.
You are my Shepherd who cares for His own.
Lord, teach me to learn that your gifts are best.
Though some you allow may seem like a test.
May your will be mine, no matter my plight.
Trusting your wisdom to give what is right.
Lord, teach me to follow close by your side;
Trusting in Thee, my need to provide.
Green pastures to feed in and there take my rest.
As the Good Shepherd, your sheep are most blessed.
Lord, teach me the joy of your shepherding care.
In triumph and trials I know Thou art there.
When I have completed my life’s endeavor.
I shall dwell in the house of my Lord forever.
