THE APRIL FOOL’S JOKE

Today is April fool’s day.
Upon what soul a joke I’ll play?
My wife is always close at hand.
She’ll not see what I have planned.
A juicy bit of chilling news,
Will put her in the depths of blues.
Then I’ll give that well known clue,
“April fool, the jokes on you.”
And as I get up off the floor
From whence I gotten up before.
She will say, “I’m sorry dear.
I act the same way every year.”
When will I learn to speak, then duck?
And not get hit by her Mac truck.
