GOD’S  GIFT

II Samuel 24:24 “…Neither will I offer burnt offerings unto

the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing.”(KJV)

What kind of gift shall I bring to the King?

I have some lambs that were born in the spring,

One of them is stronger than all of the rest.

Shall I give to the King that which is best?

I have another, I doubt it will live.

Maybe that one is the one I will give.

It will be slaughtered and die anyway.

That’s how I’ll get it out of the way.

I do not have much and cannot spare more.

He surely won’t mind for He knows I am poor.

God knows my heart, that I am sincere.

I’ll give a better one this time next year.

Is that how God chose His own sacrifice?

No, He gave His Son and didn’t think twice.

The best that God had in the whole universe;

To die on the cross to lift Adam’s curse.

What should we give Him who died in our place?

He shed His blood to give us God’s grace.

He rightly deserves the best I can bring.

For He is my Lord, my Savior and King.
