Love is Alive and Well!

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love.
Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.

-- 1 John 4:16
We can be sure that God loves us. He wants us to live in and be
blessed by his love. That love is more than just the grace that
reaches us when we are saved. God's love extends through us. His
love is redemptive in our loving behavior to others. His presence
is seen in our loving attitudes and deeds. God wants his love to be
shared by us to others. In this way, his love blesses us when we
receive it and also when we share it!
Father in heaven, I rely on your love. I cannot imagine my life
without it; I would be completely lost -- literally and eternally.
However, I know you love me Father. I am confident about my future,
full of joy in this moment, and standing on tiptoe until your love
is fully realized in your presence at Jesus' coming. Thank you for
loving me. In Jesus' name I thank you. Amen.

Ahhh love, its in the air, lets all breath it in shall we? This week is going to be great and full of suprises! The 150 psalms are divided into five books or collections which were added at four times after the initial worship book was compiled. This first worship book was assembled before David's death and consist of his work. These are mostly personal psalms reflecting David's own experiences. Book two (Psalms 42-72) were probably written during Solomon's time. Books III (73-89) and IV (90-106) are from the days of Exile, and the final book (107-150), which contains the most liturgical of the psalms, were probably collected aroung the time of Ezra after the return from exile. There are many themes which run through the Psalms, including praise, history, relationships, calling on God to overthrow the wicked, repentance, and messianic psalms. All the psalms can be useful for today in our devotional life.
