Thomas, it was such a thrill to see my name and picture here. Thanks a lot. I hope everyone looks at my album and enjoys the pictures. Most of them are from Stratford, Ontario, Canada. This is where I grew up. It draws people from around the world to see the plays at four theaters. I saw this start when I was a teenager. At that time the main industry was CNR train shops that repaired engines of trains. I remember how everyone was upset because it closed and so many locals worked there. A few years later a man called Tom Patterson organized the beginning of a Shakespearean Festival to copy that in England. They rented a gigantic tent that was specially prepared and it was later replaced by a circular building that is very unique. The rest is history and just grew and grew. Most of the streets and schools, etc. have names from the plays. The people love to walk all around Lake Victoria and feed the swans and ducks. It goes over a small dam and is then called The Avon River. Flower gardens are everywhere and done by professionals. Many new industries came there and unfortunately at present there are many that are for car parts. I give you these facts to show how adversity can be conquered in bad times such as we are all facing now. Some of the other photos are of Niagara Falls which is also a fabulous tourist attraction. Once agains thanks for the honor of being on this site. Shirley Manion
