Cider Peas and Apples

This definitely sounds different. I would never have thought of this combination.

Cider Peas and Apples

3 cups frozen peas
1 medium apple, cored and thinly sliced
1/3 cup apple cider or apple juice
1 teaspoon cornstarch

Directions:

Place a steamer basket in a large saucepan.  Add water to just below the bottom of the steamer basket.  Bring water to boiling. Add peas to basket. Cover and steam 5 minutes.  Add the apple slices; steam for 2-4 more minutes or until just tender.

Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan stir cider into cornstarch. Cook and stir until mixture is thickened and bubbly.  Cook about 2 minutes more, stirring often.  Add the peas and apples; toss gently to coat with sauce.

Hi Myrna,

Yes that is definitely a unique and easy recipe. I like peas too so will probably try it.
