TWO WORDS MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE
John 6:47 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me
hath everlasting life.”
By Rev. Dean Beaty 1/6/09
I was in the doctor’s office and I knew he would be late.
So I chose a magazine that I hoped would help me wait.
I knew that it was liberal by the authors that it used.
But shock turned into outrage when the Scriptures were abused.
Just two words were missing from a verse that I knew well.
Four letters made all the difference between life with God and hell.
The man had chosen scripture from the brand New R.S.V.
But it would well determine where one spent eternity.
Read the verse I‘ve quoted and leave out the words “on me.”
Our faith is placed in Jesus. He’s the all important key.
Their interpretation of what Jesus taught that day,
Was the act of mere believing is what helps you on your way.
It’s the Person and the Work of God’s beloved Son.
The Redeemer of the world. By His blood salvation’s won.
As Jesus said Himself, “No man cometh…but by me.”*
Faith in Jesus Christ alone will determine where you’ll be.
“The devils believes and trembles.”* But they’re condemned by God.
The act of just believing is fundamentally flawed.
Trust Jesus as your Savior. He’s the only hope for men.
He shed His blood on Calv’ry to redeem our souls from sin.
*John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”
*James 2:19 “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils
Also believe, and tremble.”
