KURT’S LITTLE BLACK BOOK
By his father-in-law (Dean Beaty 1/11/09)
With the generosity of Susie Coooper
Thank you for the calendar, its arrival was in time
To save my son-in-law from loosing reason and his rhyme.
A chicken with its head off can find a grain of corn.
But not knowing what came next had left him quite forlorn.
It’s good that school was out therefore no activities.
The buses could not roll to teach the ABC’s.
But now he’s back on track for he has his new black book.
Life is back to normal and we are off the hook.
It’s this current generation. They can’t use a sundial.
A rotary type phone would take them quite a while.
They’ve never used an outhouse and everything is ‘lectrified.
Even simple games of chess, soon they’ll want a ‘lectric bride.
Do not forget next year or we’ll suffer the same fate.
Too bad they can’t use brain power to remember just a date.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Don’t forget the pictures of your dear sweet progeny.
p.s. Happy birthday now to me. Today I’m sixty-six.
My mind says forty-three but my body contradicts.
So what’s a guy to do when his body’s not the same?
Transplant a new body and I’ll keep the same old name.
