THE  SIN  OF  JACOBNESS

There is a sin I must confess.

Forgive me Lord of Jacobness.

“What is Jacobness,” you say?

It’s managing in our own way.

Not asking God for His assist,

But doing things as I insist.

Jacob schemed to make a gain.

To trust in God was too mundane.

He would work it out alone.

No seeking God upon His throne.

Sometimes God’s way seems so slow.

“I’m in a hurry Lord, make it go!”

“I’ll work this out or I will bust.”

It boils down to faith and trust.

Just let the Father have control.

If it’s right you’ll reach your goal.

King Saul was guilty just as well.*

“I just can’t wait for Samuel.”

He took the priesthood on himself.

And God put Saul upon the shelf.

“Lord, help me not to be as they.”

“But wait for Thee to make a way.”
