Hi Nick!
How true, how true!!
When I hit my 20's, my Mom became my best friend. We have an agreement that we are allowed to disagree at times, and that insight (which is impossible to obtain in the teen years) has strengthened our relationshiphip.
I truly believe that being a Mom is the hardest job one can have, with the highest level of responsibility. It is, however, the most important role I have ever had.
On this Thanksgiving Day, I am grateful that I have had the joyous opportunity to be a Mom to my two wonderful children (now grown & married) and to have a great Mom, with whom I can share everything with.
I leave you with a true story from yester-year, when my children were in their early teens....
I arrived home from a long day at the office to my wonderful teenagers (Jillian was 15 and Jeremy was 13 at the time), begging me to take them to the mall. I responded that it had been a very long & stressful day, and that I wasn't really up to walking around the mall....
Both of my children, aghast with mortification, eyes rolling & all, responded, "Mom, we don't want you to come in the mall, we just want you to drive us there...."
Seems teenagers are appalled to be accompanied by parents when "doing the mall" LOL....
Happy Thanksgiving....
Hugs,
JeanMarie
