Don’t Call the Doctor Yet

Oh my, I hear you’ve got the flu.

Is there anything I can do?

But wait, I hear a different thing.

Some say that it’s food poisoning.

Now since your cook is feeling fine,

I’d be careful where I dine.

Not blaming her; that would not do.

Unless she gave the flu to you.

You may have eaten too many sweets.

You have to watch those bon-bon treats.

Of course you could be faking it.

If that’s true, your nurse should quit.

Either way don’t plan to be

Spoiled for a day or at most three.

Take some turpentine on a spoon.

That will help you—get well soon.
