IF YOU HAD A MILLION BUCKS
I Timothy 6:6 “Godliness with contentment is great gain.”
By Rev. Dean Beaty 11/20/08
If you had a million bucks what would you choose to do?
Of course you’d pay your taxes when your uncle says they’re due.
The kids need clothes, the car is junk, and the roof needs a repair.
But would you ever stop and ask for help from God in Prayer.
A long vacation is overdue. We’ll see both dad and mom.
The twins both need a formal gown to look good at the prom.
The kids have always wanted a heated swimming pool.
A bigger A.C. unit to keep the whole house cool.
A shiny stainless side by side with water in the door.
A brand new washer drier, why not, we are not poor?
Thick plush carpets on the floor, a flat screen T.V. set.
Of course we now need cable or Show-Time we won’t get.
Four years at Harvard Law School. That sure does not come cheap.
Computers, books, and brand new clothes, yet we never hear a peep.
Soon the bills start pilling up. Before long it’s all gone.
I thought a million made you rich. Just where did we go wrong?
The Bible says that, “Godliness with contentment is great gain.”
If we would count our blessings, we never would complain.
Either money is our servant or the master of our fate.
It can lead your soul to ruin or it can liberate.
