SIN’S  PESKY ROOT
Ephesians 4:27 “Neither Give place to the devil.”
James 4:7 “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Would you allow a piece of glass to stay within your foot?
Yet when you confess your sins you leave behind the root.
The vict’ry is almost complete except one tiny bit.
Unless you kill the whole root stem the sin will never quit.

Sin, like yeast within new bread when it is still fresh dough,
If left behind will come to life and continue there to grow.
Jesus warned us of this truth, so wise men will beware.
Habits of sin are hard to break.  They take more than just prayer.

Action must always follow your sincere prayer to God.
Give no place for Satan’s wiles or else confession’s flawed.
You know where temptation starts.  Now clear it from your life.
If not, temptation will win out with all its curse and strife.

The Lord will help the sincere soul but you must do your part.
That root of sin you left behind; rip it from your heart.
Give no place for Satan’s foot to step within your door.
If you yank the whole root out; you can win the war.
