LUKEWARM  CHRISTIANS

Revelation 3:14-16

How does one’s heart smolder and cool?

Their love has grown cold, that’s as a rule.

Somewhere Jesus has not been first place.

And now they’re lukewarm and out of the race.

The mechanics are there to go through the motions.

But the heart has grown cold, there is no emotion.

Not jumping over pews like some kind of fool.

But the evidence is their heart has grown cool.

Where does it start, this heart cooling phase?

It starts when we no longer give Christ our praise.

Maybe devotions have lost all there clout.

Maybe it’s preaching that leaves Jesus out.

Maybe it’s church where “Amen’s” aren’t heard.

The fire has gone out when hearts are not stirred.

“Lord, warm my heart with great love for Thee,

By seeing again Thy sacrifice for me.”
