THE COST OF SALVATION
John 1:11
By Rev. Dean Beaty
What was the cost of salvation, my friend?
What price did Christ pay from beginning to end?
He left heaven’s glory to come to the earth.
Was a palace His home, no a stable His birth?
Christ said of Himself, “No place for His head.”
His tomb was not His when Jesus was dead.
They had to use liars to defame His name.
Accused Him of blasphemy because of His claim.
He was God’s Son as proven by His works.
“But He hath a devil,” they said with a smirk.
“He came unto His own… His own received Him not.”
Despised and rejected; His teaching they fought.
We haven’t yet covered His death on the tree, And all that He suffered to save you and me.
The cost of salvation is more than we know.
What a glorious thought that Christ loved us so.
