| The reason the Feature of the Week forum was created was to honor people who have a positive influence on this community.
To qualify the person has to be an active member
and one who contributes to the positive atmosphere here at AdlandPro. Here are the criteria for nominating a member for the Feature of the Week
(also referred to as the Person of the Week, POTW).
This criterion can be seen at the site below:

How Do I Get Selected as Person of the Week?
To be chosen as Person of the week you:
• Are highly visible on the community
In the past 350 post were the minimum requirement, we
aren't locked in on that number but a minimum of 300 posts
is mandatory. Posts that are mainly advertising posts will not
be considered.
Please note highly visible with a positive influence in and on
the community means just that. You have to have an active
forum and/or be active in community forums that are not ad
threads.
• Are always seen as respectful, professional, and helpful.
• Must be nominated for the program by another member
of the Community and voted on by other members.
• Must have a real photo of themselves on their profile.

Hello Friends,
I am originally from northern Wisconsin. I moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin after graduating from high school in order to attend college at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. After my third year, I married Ron and dropped out of school to work while he finished his degree. Our first child, Scott, was born in Milwaukee. Ron was in ROTC while in college, so upon graduation we were transferred to Wilkes-Barre, PA. where he went to work as a lieutenant in the Army. After three years in the service, our second child, Jay, was born. We immediately moved to Indiana.
While my children were pre-schoolers, I completed my college degree at Butler University in Indianapolis, going part-time for three years to finish my last 30 credits.
As far as my career is concerned, I worked various part-time jobs until we moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana. There I was employed full-time as a welfare worker for three years.
We then moved to Beloit, Wisconsin for one year. I worked as a teacher's aide in a special needs class. After one year there my husband accepted a job in Logansport, Indiana, where we have now resided since 1978.
I worked at the Logansport State Hospital psychiatric facility for 24 years and 8 months, providing activities for mentally ill patients, being a member of their treatment team, documenting their progress or lack thereof, providing counseling as needed, and other related duties.
I have been retired for 6 years now. Five days a week I go to our local senior center and exercise on a variety of equipment. I volunteered one day a week at my former place of employment for 4 years. Now I have just begun volunteering at our medical hospital one or two evenings a month.
Adlandpro is a great community and I have really enjoyed being a member. My forums are important to me. I like to share health information and hear from my peers about experiences they have had treating health issues. I also like to share recipes in my recipe exchange.
I feel like I have made a lot of friends here. There are a lot of nice people who are members. Anyone who is not in my circle of friends yet, please ask me to be your friend!
