Teenage suicides - YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Teenage Suicides - YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

YOU REALLY CAN.

This came to me from my Great friend Paul Fitzgerald.

Paul is a successful networker and mentor to many. Like all successfull people he too hasa mentor. A mentor who has a desire to help those vulnerable suicidal teen agers.

See here what Paul says:

"

My good friend, Ken McArthur is standing in a circus tent today in
Longbeach California, asking 2,000 people to spread a message of
hope to teenagers who don't think that life is worth living.

Ken is my coach and mentor and as part of his Impact Team,
originally I was to be with him at the event. However, starting
my new Company this month meant that was to be impossible.

I think it's a great message of hope for anyone and would love to
see all of my readers think about spreading it today.

Here's Ken's simple message for for giving hope (and maybe saving
someone's life!):

G - Greet and meet: talk to others, smile, say hello, ask
        someone how they are doing

I - Involve yourself and others: find a cause you can support,
volunteer, pledge resources. Get the people around you
involved, especially if you see someone beginning to
withdraw. Invite them to participate in some activity, to
"get out" of their comfort zone

V - Validate others: tell others that they matter - especially
family members and friends that you tend to see daily but
may take for granted, give genuine complements

E - Empathize: be a listening ear, take time to be fully
present, don't try to solve - just acknowledge someone's
        feeling/hurt

You can find out more about Ken's wonderful project with his
Impact Action Team at:

Spread this message today!

And if you send it on let Roger know how many you sent it to!

Hi Roger,

This is definitely a very worthy cause and one well worth fighting for. Our children and grand children need all the help they can get.

I'll pass this on to others for sure. thanks for sharing.

Shalom,

Peter

Hi Roger,

Thank you for creating this thread and for bringing awareness to suicides among teenagers.

I have noticed that many school districts across California offer several workshops
about suicidal tendencies among teens to students and their parents throughout the year. In my hometown, most of the workshops are held in the middle and high schools. Many school psychologists also give counseling to students about how to get help when they have suicidal thoughts.

In any case, the more parents learn how to detect irregular changing moods and behaviors in their teens, the sooner they can enlist help to prevent young people from taking their own life.

I also noticed that several countries, such as China, Japan, and some countries in the Middle East, have higher rates of suicides among teens than in the United States.

I think that Ken McArthur is carrying a worthy cause. I like his approach very much.

Until next time --

Have an Awesome Weekend!

JoAnne,

Thank you for your very caring and constructive attitude.

You are a lovely person who not only cares but who does something about it.

It is a puzzling phenomenon teenage suicide. I realise that with all of the hormone changes things sometimes go wrong, however, it doesn't go halfway to pinpointing the problem.

In one small town in Wales (UK) there have been a lot of suicides among teenagers but the police still say that there is no link between them.... so.... why.

Please everyone, promote this website.

Roger
