“THEY HAD BEEN WITH JESUS”
Acts 4:13
By Rev. Dean Beaty 9/10/08
When the disciples were questioned about what they taught,
To speak about Jesus, they were told they should not.
For, “They took knowledge, they had been with Jesus.”
Could the very same thing be said about us?
They had healed a man that had been born lame.
They had done this great deed in Jesus’ name.
The council had told them that they should not preach,
Or in Jesus’ name, that they should not teach.
But God was the one that they must obey.
No matter what others might threaten or say.
“When they saw the boldness of Peter and John,”
Gamaliel said, “They soon will be gone.”
The council thought they had evened the score.
But Peter and John just preached all the more.
The council “took knowledge, they had been with Jesus.”
Could the very same thing be said about us?
