Poem I wrote in 10th grade.
9/9/2008 7:40:10 PM

I was in a rush when I wrote and found it quite goofy but my teacher loved it. Thought I'd share....

Such pain and hurt she questioned,

Why me? Why me? Why me?

The pain is so instense I feel that I may die....

Then the doctor came in and asked,

Did the nurse get the splinter out alright?

Funny Melody!

Quite good for a 10 year old and it took some thought as well.

So how are you and all the animals doing?   Well, I hope.

God Bless!

Thank you Marion

All the animals are doing good now. One of the horses, Joe, gave us quite a scare Thursday. He went down on the ground early that morning and just kept slamming himself to the ground. I treated him as for colic which helped some but when the vet came out he said his colon was the size of a beach ball.

He said the pronosis wasn't good and half hinted at putting him down. I know Joe's a fighter so we treated him and it was rough going Thursday and Friday some better then Saturday he was his old self again. Scared the life out of me. He's back to his bratty self now though. I had him in the front yard. It's where I put anyone that's having medical issue and he commenced to ram sack the deck at 2 am! He knocked stuff off of anything and everything he could stretch and reach. (it's a raised porch so it took quite an effort on his part) It's his way of saying "okay, I'm good to go!"

We're taking it day by day now hoping his colon will return to normal with the special feeds and medication.

Best Wishes,

Melody

Hi Melody,

So sorry to hear about Joe!  I know how stressful that situation can be.  I had a horse when I was a child that died with colic.  It broke my heart.  I pray that he gets
well.  Sounds like he is feeling much better though if he is tearing into everything.

God Bless!
