Is Success Always Good?
4/20/2008 10:06:18 AM
Success essentially is the accomplishing of a goal. So is success always good? If you have a goal to exterminate a whole population like Hitler tried to exterminate the Jews, then there is a big question mark placed over the goodness of such a success. A question mark can be placed over many kinds of successes. This is because what might be a success for one person, may be a disappointment for another. For instance, if a person decided that he was going to sell a product for a certain price, that would result in a profit, but found himself selling it at a loss, he had no success. However, if the person who bought the product had in mind to buy the product for a price which represented a loss to the seller, you could say the buyer was successful, but the seller was not. A chauvinist migjt be successful in seducing a member of the opposite sex, but that other person may have really intended not to be seduced. Cancer might be successful in claiming it victim, because the treatment was not successful in overcoming the cancer. What this means is success is not always good for everyone involved in the deal. However, from a personal perspective, if you do not have success in your life, then you will a defeated, depressed individual. So success is always good for the survival of every entity or individual, human or otherwise. But success itself is not always good for everyone concerned. www.happyriches.name
