Cancer Prevention: QUIT
12/29/2006 11:30:22 AM

Hi all

How to prevent cancer.  Very simple.  Very effective.

QUIT

Just one little word.  But it can save millions of lives and millions of dollars, going up in smoke.

There was a little joke.  Smoking cures cancer.  Of course, the joke read< "Smoking cures cancer."  It means that if the victim smoked long enough, he or she would be overtaken by cancer, and would never smoke again.  You can't ever continue smoking while you are laid to rest in a pine box.

Let's get serious.  Smoking is the leading cause of cancer.  The cigarettes you smoke are additive to your lungs.  The material deposited in your lungs and breating space grows and forms a malignant base in not only your lungs, but everywhere else in your body.

But beyond this.  Secondary smoke, or the smoke emitted by others also kills, even people who do not smoke.  Even your pet dog or cat can contract cancer from secondary smoke and die.

So how do you prevent cancer.  Here are a few suggestions.  But I have to give you fair warning.  Smokers are a very belligerent lot.  They do not care if they die or if others around them also die.  As one smoker who was also a cancer victim put it, "So what?"

Just like the Japanese Kamikaze pilots of World War II, smokers have little desire to live a long and somewhat boring life.  They would rather live a short fast life, enriched by the pleasures of smoking.  However, for a growing number of these folk, there is greater meaning to life than to die a cancer victim with a cigarette in hand.  So, here is what to do for cancer prevention.

1.  If you smoke, quite immediately.  Go directly to the former smokers group.  Do not pass GO.  Do collect $200 every time you turn your back on buying a pack of cigarettes.

2.  Make sure your kids attend smokers prevention clinics early and often.  It could save their lives from cancer.

3.  Support local, state, and federal legislation aimed at further restricting the ban on smoking or raising taxes on tobacco products.  Eventually, smoking might hurt so bad in out of pocket costs that people will just give up trying to buy the stuff.  The cancer statistics will eventually fall.

More later .....send in your views on this forum.

Hello Bob

You are right on. Excellent post.

You have told the truth and nothing but the truth.QUIT! Or cigarettes will QUIT YOU or should I say KILL YOU. Go ahead smoke you’re live away.

I just had to say this to support your wise remarks.

I just watched a movie called:

Thanks For Smoking: played by Aaron Eckhart as Nick Naylor

Tobacco industry lobbyist Nick Naylor has a seemingly impossible task: promoting cigarette smoking in a time when the health hazards of the activity have become too plain to ignore. Nick, however, revels in his job, using argument and twisted logic to place, as often as not, his clients in the positions of either altruistic do-gooders or victims.

These amazing movies will allow you to see how it is that the Tobacco companies are getting away with not just murder but GENOCIDE!

At one point In the movies Nick is being interviewed by a reporter and she asked Nick the following key question:

- Reporter - Nick why do they pay you to do this kind of work?

- Nick – For Population Control

When I heard this answer it just blew me away,

because it is an in your face answer.

Here is another movies that will clear your head about the Truth of cigarettes and addiction.

The movies is called: The Insider – Played by Russell Crowe

This film tells the true story of Jeffrey Wigand, (Played by Russell Crowe) a former tobacco executive, who decided to appear on the CBS-TV News show "60 Minutes." As matter of conscience partially prodded by producer Lowell Bergman, he revealed that, the tobacco industry was not only aware that cigarettes are addictive & harmful, but deliberately worked on increasing that addictiveness. Unfortunately, both protagonists of this story learn the hard way that simply telling the truth is not enough as they struggle against both Big Tobacco's attempts to silence them and the CBS TV Network's own cowardly complicit preference of putting money as a higher priority over the truth.

These 2 movies are a must see. So that you can better understand and value more your life and the life of your loved ones.

No second hand smoking for me. How about you?

Let us continue to empower people with TRUTH so they can WAKE UP AND GET HEALTHY.

To your health and success

Robert C
