Mr. Scare Crow
Hello, they said I could do this!! Wow, what a privilege to introduce you to this fine lady. I have been reading her poetry and if you don’t like this and be ‘blown away’ by it – you got problems friend.
Just hanging around all day I have plenty of time to read so I am very well-informed and know a good thing when I see it.
You are invited to an Oktoberfest, a really wild POETRY READING with all the trimmings. Don’t forget to bring lots of food and drinks.
It is with greatest pleasure and enthusiasm that I INTRODUCE you to another of your friends who is our Poet for the Month.

Terry Gorley
Of
Barriere, BC, Canada
Welcome, Terry, and we look forward to celebrating your poetry this month!!
Thank you for featuring me as your October Poet, Sara!
Its a wonderful honor to be included among some of the most respected and talented writers of ALP in your Poet of the Month forum.
I've been writing poetry for many years. My poems are mostly written when a thought jumps out at me and I take the time to write it down. I don't write as often now as I used to. "Legacy" written in 1998, pretty much covers my thoughts on writing.
I began entering poems in contests in 1986. From that, I won the Silver Poet Award for "Pioneer and the Prairie."

Terry, just for you, Meagol and I dressed for the Celebration!! We are so happy to have the privilege of honoring you this month in our Celebration of Poetry for October. Terry’s poems have totally amazed me and I love everything I have read and look forward to more this month. Please come and celebrate the month with us and enjoy some great reading.
Terry, I hope you don’t mind, I copied this from your bio:
“My passion is writing words that will give another perspective, to help others feel good about themselves and to bring hope to those who need it.
I believe we've all been put here to learn and teach specific life lessons. We don't always know who we touch in our lifetime or why, but it happens everyday and I am grateful to everyone who has touched mine, especially my family, friends and the virtual strangers who have become friends.”
This also impressed me very much,

"I appreciate the beauty in nature..."

For introducing her first poem, I selected this one, it just says so much of what all of us need to pay more attention to.
Gratitude
I am awakened each morning with Gratitude.
I walk throughout the day with Gratitude.
I play and relax with Gratitude.
At night I go to bed in wonderous appreciation and Gratitude.
When I experience the gifts Mother Nature has given me for free,
I say, "Thank you!" with Gratitude.
Saying "Thank you," opens my heart with Gratitude.
My spirit touches others and they in turn express how they feel
with Gratitude.
I have an intense sense of well-being when I thank myself
as I do others with my deepest appreciation and Gratitude.
It is with Gratitude, I understand that what I value most in life is my family, my health, to be loved unconditionally and respected.
It is with Gratitude, I understand the importance of self-respect
and what it means to me.
As I attain my goals throughout my life, I will do it with Gratitude.
Life is a journey and with every step I take along the way,
I will do it with Gratitude.

Give Me Wings
Give me wings
So I can fly,
For freedom, for independence.
Give me wings
So I can be
All that I am,
All that I can be.
Give me wings
So I might fail,
Learn ...
Succeed.
Give me wings
To be myself,
Give me wings.

Have a wonderful day,
