Great topic and yes it is very serious.  I saw a program dealing with teen suicide and was amazed on how a parent can not notice the warning signs and is not communicating with the teen to find out what is happening in their life.  Even though my children are grown, I still can tell if things are not quite right and thank God they are comfortable enough with me to be able to share.  I may not have a solution but they do feel better to just air their feelings rather than keeping it bottle up inside to fester.

Hi Nick.

This is a very importand subject. In the world of no discipline where it is
a crime for a teacher to touch a student, school bullying has reached an
alltime high. Our society is not prepared to accept the consequences of
the current policies.

It was just on our local news about a 8 year old that hit a teacher and
the teacher was put in the hospital with injuries. Now how could this
happen? The 8 year old weighed in at 120 lbs. There was no discipline
of the guilty student.

A couple of months ago a 5 year old was arrested by the police for
virtually destroying a classroom.

We don't hear about students violence on other students, it
is kept out of the news.

This is real local news from Jacksonvill, FL.

I was a victim of school bullies when I was 8 years old and
had broken bones from it. This was back in the 50's when
there WERE  rules against this behavior.

I have my own opinion about this problem, but I will save it for
another forum.

Talk to your mother, grandmother and if you can further back. Talk to old people and look at history. This is not a new thing, it has been going on since the beginning of time. We have not changed now and 100 years from now it will still be the same - But from me - PEACE!
