Through the mist of the dawning
Comes the peaceful transition
wanting ever wanting
Moving toward the unknown light

Castles and mansions of the mind
Counless hours spent in reflection
Images of joy and wonder never ending
Through the eyes of a child.

Once you leave the borders
You can never return again the same
Spend the rest of your life wondering
What was lost in the journey

Always looking and never finding
The way back home
Was it a dream or am I just alone
In my searching for the beginning?

No, it was not the presence of mourning
It did not sting and niether was I hurt
I had just forgotten where it was
in the mist of the dawning.

Find the child within
Reach back and snatch it from
The oblivion and darkness
Of the far reaching depths of the mind

It was never lost or forgotten
But we did not know it was still there
It is the child that sees the joy
And wonder of wonders it is still there
