Hi Marion,

 

I very much know what this family is going through. My son, Ronald, took his own life Jan. 28 of this year.  This is something you never get over.

 

I have no idea who came up with the phrase, time heals all wounds. As far as I am concerned, time worsens it. The outreach I got from family, friends and strangers was enormous.  There was absolutely no reason I can think of to this day as to why my son did this.

I did however accept the fact that this was his decision and I will live with that till the day I die and I ask him myself.

 

The prayer is absolutely beautiful. I will also be praying for this family and especially for the mother, because I know how she feels and how she is hurting, for now and until she dies.

Kyle who died by
his  own hand.
Grant him peace
from his inner turmoil
and the compassion of your love.
Comfort those like Karen, his mother,
who mourns  her loved one.
Strengthen them to face the questions of pain,
the guilt and anger,
the irreparable loss.
Help us to reach out in love
to others who prefer death
to the choices of life
and to their families who grieve.

I am so sorry for your loss as well.  You are right this would be something that you don't fully get over but in time the wounds become less painful.  I lost my mother suddenly but not through suicide.  All the same it hurts very much still even after 4 years but not near as much as it did at that time.  I had to really get in touch with the Lord to be able to move on.
