Old Cell phones are a risk!
9/2/2006 11:44:36 AM

Hi Everyone,

Hope things are going well. I have been so busy this summer I haven't had a chance to get back to adland. I am hoping that I will be able to continue now where I left off :)

Here is some new information about your old cell phones.

When you dispose of your  old cell phones, usually you erase the information on it, RIGHT? ...... Or do you?

It has been found that a company purchased old cell phones and looked into this situation. What they found was that personal information had been left behind for the taken. Even though you have taken all precausions of calling the cell phone company and going thru their codes to erase data, It still remains behind. It can still be located by someone who knows how to access the erased info.

My only suggestion on this issue is...... If you are dissposing of an old cell phone take it apart and Split the motherboard ( if you will) In Half.

Or...

Just simply don't store any info on the cell phone that may be harmful, Like account numbers or passcodes.

Hope you find this information usefull

Have A Great Day!!

Eileen
