Hello Deborah, I really appreciate your kind words today. We must all stay positive and stand as one. Love and friendship will always win the day over evil. I agree with you that the British do have a fighting spirit ... and quite rightfully so.  I agree that we should not be made to feel prisoners in our own homes because of terrorist acts like this ....

But the sad truth is.... working within the tourist industry .... we are losing a proportion of flying tourism, globally ...

Madeira and its survival depend mainly on British and German tourists ... we are a destination people have no choice but to fly to ... without this market our island will sink ...

What scares me is not JUST the effect it has on British travellers but all travellers, globally, .... (and believe me ... I was on the phone like hotfire yesterday to my mum in the UK )... and what adverse effects it will, ultimately, have on destinations such as this that rely on flights for economy.

Hello Venerina my dear friend. Well a positive way of looking at this is that after many attacks on the aviation industry over the years starting with 9/11 the industry always recovers. The London bombings didn't stop people going on public transport. People will travel and use the best mode of transport to get to their destinations whatever is thrown at them. We have an incredible resillience to adversity we humans and today more than ever we are adapting to living our lives with many terror threats. Of course we want this horror to end and end soon. Who knows what will happen. Enjoy everyday and lets shine above this. Madeira is a beautiful place and one I intend to visit so hopefully I can at least support your industry. Funny enough, we've got some great fish restaurants ... not as classy as the one in Exeter ... but GREAT FISH!!!!! ..... oh and there's some great wines here too!!!!

If you're really unlucky you could get to sit through a whole night of some dreadful singer in a hotel somewhere heheheheheheheheh
