I Love Seeing the World through My Children
6/27/2006 10:13:40 PM
Although Brad and I love hiking, walking, swimming and other activities, my favorite thing to do is play with my toddlers. I mean really enjoy them. Sit down in the sandbox and sink my hands into making a castle or splashing in the pool. The little ones are great way to discover the world again through their eyes. I just love it!

I too wrap my time into my children when I am at home. I love to do things that are fun for them. However mine are older then yours are. mine are 9 & 14 now. We enjoy the beach, bowling, craigs cruisers, Michigans Adventure, movies, concerts & much much more. Enjoy them while they are little it doesn't take long for them to get much bigger.

Thanks Kathy! Brad and I actually spent the whole morning at the beach. Yes, I do see them changing so fast! Kelly :)

I agree as I really enjoyed my son, taking him swimming everyday we could, going to games, reading and playing with him, bike riding with him, taking him and friends to movies and events they enjoyed. Now it is he and friends who are taking me places, movies, dinner.... Linda

You are all so right. Because of my job when my son was younger I missed a lot of what you are talking about. I tried to make sure that made as much time for him as possible when I was home. I was the soccer coach, baseball coach, Boy Scout leader, anything I could do to make sure that we spent time together. Now that he is older, 22, the time we spend together is even more fun. Last year between Christmas and New Years he flew out here to Southern Ca from Va and we jumped on couple of Harleys and cruised down to Mexico for a week. What a blast!!! It wasn’t until I got much older that I realized that I had overlooked the innocent perspective that he tried to show me; I didn't realize at the time that in his world that was reality. I miss that insight and perspective. Go play and have fun.MJI
