Roses Now

Proverbs 17:17 “A friend loveth at all times, and a
brother is born for adversity.” (KJV)
To show someone you care, don’t wait another day.
The chance may come and go and forever pass away.
Roses at a wake may show the world you care.
But the object of your love won’t even know they’re there.
Even just one rose can bring a heart to song.
It’s not a lot to give but just don’t wait too long.
Just to show you care is the purpose of the gift.
Such a simple gesture will give that one a lift.
There are friends you know who face a daily trial.
Wouldn’t it be worth it to bring to them a smile?
Just this act of kindness will lessen someone’s grief.
The rose you give today could bring to them relief.
You do not need a dozen for it’s the thought that counts.
A pound of salt is good but you only need an ounce.
Make “Roses Now” your motto. Don’t wait till it’s too late.
People don’t need roses when they enter heaven’s gate.
Roses are red, violets will wilt.
Roses now and then won’t make the world tilt. (DB)
