Russian pilot accuses US special services of abduction and torture

In a letter to the Russian Human Rights ombudsman, pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko has described the details of his abduction by the US special forces and tortures that he had endured in the US prison.

Yaroshenko is currently serving a 20-year sentence in the United States after being convicted of conspiracy to smuggle illegal drugs as a result of the US DEA sting operation. The Russian citizen has always denied the charges and stated that his detention in Liberia and transportation to the US were parts of a plan to make him testify against another Russian citizen.

In the latest attempt to achieve justice Yaroshenko sent a letter to Russian Human Rights ombudsman, Tatyana Moskalkova, in which he said that during the 2011 trial he was forbidden from mentioning the abduction and torture by US special forces agents, but decided to tell about these violations now in hope for justice for himself and those who wronged him.

In particular, Yaroshenko wrote that he had lost teeth as a result of beatings performed by US agents, adding that the authorities of the prison where he was kept continue to deny him access to a qualified dentist, which by itself can be considered as torture.

The Russian citizen also wrote that he would press for a trial for those who had abducted and tortured him. “This is because right after this trial ends in convictions, which, according to my lawyer is beyond doubt, me and my family will sue everyone who is found guilty for material and moral damages and demand tremendous compensations,” reads the letter, as quoted by Interfax.

Yaroshenko added that in his view such lawsuit could become an additional leverage that could aid his amnesty, pardon or handover to the Russian authorities.

In recent comments, ombudsman Moskalkova said that she planned to take Yaroshenko’s case to the highest level in hope to get the Russian citizen pardoned. “I will attempt to demand him being handed over to Russia so that he continues to serve his sentence here. I will also re-apply for his pardon. I think that this is a very important issue, in view of the forthcoming summit between Vladimir Putin and United States President Donald Trump,” the official stated in her interview with Channel 1 television.

Former commercial aircraft pilot, Konstantin Yaroshenko, was sentenced to 20 years in prison by a US court in 2011. The charges against him included the alleged participation in a plan to smuggle drugs into the US, buty they were based only on the testimony of US DEA agents, who had launched a sting operation against him. The Russian was first arrested in Liberia and then flown to the US without official extradition procedures and in violation of the diplomatic code.

Russian diplomats have repeatedly requested that the US authorities hand over the Russian citizen, but these requests are always denied. Russian Human Rights ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova has personally addressed US President Donald Trump, asking him to pardon the Russian citizen, but her petition was also rejected.

Duma gives first nod to bill ordering life sentences for sex crimes against minors

Edited time: 5 Jul, 2018 08:49

The Russian Lower House has passed, in the first reading, a motion to tighten laws on sex crimes against children - with punishments of up to life in prison and the removal of the statute of limitations in all such cases.

Currently sex with minors is punished with up to four years behind bars, but the term can be increased to 10 years in cases when victims are under 14 years of age and up to 15 years when there is more than one victim. The legal age of consent in Russia is 16 and the age of maturity is 18.

If the new bill passes into law sex crimes against children under 14 could carry sentences up to life in prison in cases when the crime brings grave consequences to victim’s life or health. The motion also classifies the making, purchase, possession, distribution, public display and advertising of child porn as grave crimes.

The new bill also describes the situation when suspected pedophiles live together with their victims, act as their guardians, or work as their teachers as an aggravating condition.

The draft proposes to abolish the statute of limitations in the investigation of sex crimes against minors. One of the main sponsors of the bill, MP Irina Yarovaya (United Russia), said that the changes are necessary because victims of sex crimes, especially those who suffer them regularly, often become depressed and withdrawn, and it may take significant time before law enforcement agencies receive the information they need to start a criminal probe.

Another part of the bill makes it a separate crime when someone incites minors towards sexual intercourse by means of the internet. This includes distribution of pornographic materials among children via the internet, MP Yarovaya noted in comments.

According to the sponsors of the bill, in 2017 about 9,600 underage Russians became victims of sexual harassment and crime. Of these, 1800 are children under 10 who were subjected to rape. Russia’s top federal law enforcement agency, the Investigative Committee, started 13,551 criminal investigations into sex crimes against children in 2017 alone.

Teen Attacked For MAGA Hat, Man ID’d

Swift repercussions followed.

| by Austin Lewis

Whataburger is known as one of the best places to get a fast-food cheeseburger in Texas. For one group of teenagers, it became a place to be assaulted by an adult because one of them wore a MAGA hat.

As people like Maxine Waters are flying around the country, making angry speeches about ‘getting into faces’ of those who disagree with her politically, it seems that political discourse is becoming more tense, and often even violent. What happened this week inSan Antonio, Texas, at a Whataburger restaurant, only serves to drive home that point.

A 30-year-old adult in the restaurant assaulted a minor, threw drink in his face, stole hisTrump hat, and then walked out of the restaurant. No one stopped said ‘adult,’ though he faced some consequences later on when his own employer identified him and fired him for assaulting a minor. If nothing else, the employer deserves some credit for standing up for true openness and inclusion.

Now, police in the city are investigating the incident, looking for the assailant, Kino Jimenez, a bartender in the city and Green Party member.

In a video, which has since gone viral, Jimenez, with dark skin and a full beard, throws a drink in the face of a young man named Hunter Richard, then leaves the restaurant with the hat in tow.

According to the young Mr. Richard, who is 16 years-old, his assailant also pulled out some of his hair.

According to his two friends who were with him at the restaurant, they didn’t provoke the assault in any way.

The assault occurred at the Whataburger in San Antonio, off of Nacogdoches and Thousand Oaks, on Tuesday night, the day before America celebrated its independence.

After the assault occurred, the friends put the video up online, hoping to find out who the assailant was, and perhaps to get back the hat that had been stolen from Richard. It quickly went viral.

Since then, it has been discovered that it was Kino Ahuitzotl Jimenez who assaulted the boy. Though the recording did not pick up the audio very well, the assailant bragged that the hat was going to “go great” in his “f***ing fireplace, b***h.”

The bar that employed Jimenez, Rumble San Antonio, fired him for his actions. They also released a statement on Facebook, pointing out that their bar is entirely inclusive, even for people with different political stances and affiliations.

Perhaps most hilariously, the assailant is a member of the Green Party of Texas, which preaches non-violence and ‘social justice.’

The teen said that when he put the video up online, he didn’t think it would go viral, or become nearly as popular as it did.

He also said that the comments on his video were mixed, with some being supportive and pointing out how ridiculous it was for a grown man to assault minors over their political stances.

It seems like politically motivated violence, especially against people who have done nothing wrong other than having opinions dubbed ‘wrong’ by the political left, is on the rise in the United States.

It was only around a year ago that a leftist Bernie Sanders supporter fired on elected Republican politicians, who were simply practicing baseball for a friendly upcoming match with the Democrats.

It was shortly after Steve Scalise was shot that republican junior Kentucky Senator Rand Paul was assaulted on his own property in Bowling Green, Kentucky, by a neighbor.

The neighbor attempted to excuse his behavior by saying that Senator Paul was a bad neighbor, and that his pumpkin patch and compost had ‘devalued’ the properties nearby, but the local Homeowner’s Association found no record of complaints, and the neighbors didn’t substantiate the assailant’s claims either.

Just last week, Dr. Paul’s office in Bowling Green, Kentucky, received a call from a man who threatened to chop up the Senator and his family with an ax.

Meanwhile, Democrats like Maxine Waters, a Congressional Representative fromCalifornia, continue to push their followers to assail anyone who they disagree with.

In fact, Congresswoman Waters was supposed to give a speech in Texas just last weekend. She decided to cancel after her calls for violence and harassment against Republicans and members of the Donald Trump White House resulted in threats against her.

16-year-old Richard, however, has a better answer than simply stealing someone’s hat and pulling their hair, or threatening political opponents, or assaulting people for disagreeing politically.

He said that he supports President Donald J. Trump, and that if someone doesn’t, “let’s have a conversation about it” instead of resorting to assault and theft.

Political discourse in the United States seems to be reaching new lows daily. Unsurprisingly, the assailants are generally left-leaning, and the targets generally right-leaning in their politics.

Antifa, for example, seems to have carte blanche to act as they wish to, with minimal response from police in leftist enclaves like Berkeley or Portland.

Perhaps most astonishingly, many mainstream media outlets don’t seem interested in holding the political left accountable for people who answer their ‘call to action.’

This represents a stark difference in treatment from how the media treated the right afterGabrielle Giffords was shot. The media worked night and day to find an image of ‘targeted’ districts across the country that was years old, then suggested that the imagery of the crosshair might have driven the shooter to assault her.

It’s time for the left to hold its own accountable, and it’s time for a cessation of open hostility over political differences. Sadly, both the political left and their mainstream media allies seem disinterested in either, and continue to foment anger wherever they can.

KILLER HEATWAVE hits California after leaving dozens dead in Canada - WILDFIRE warning

A KILLER heatwave which has left dozens dead in Canada has arrived in the western US.
By JOEY MILLAR

High temperatures have left 33 dead in Quebec this month and the hot weather is now moving into the US.

A heatwave has already hit the northeast US and has now arrived on the west coast, with California now suffering 100 degree Fahrenheit temperatures.

This month 33 people have died in the Canadian province of Quebec due to the heat, including 18 in the city of Montreal.

Dr David Kaiser of Montreal's Regional Public Health Department said most of the victims were more than 50 years old, male and living alone.

None of the victims had air conditioning in their homes, Dr Kaiser added.

The northeast US has also been hit by heat-related deaths.

On Sunday a man running a race in New York died after his internal temperature reached 108 degrees Fahrenheit.

Coroner Frank Whitelaw said: “When your brain becomes overheated like that, it can't function any more.”

And two other deaths in Kansas City are being investigated as heat-related.

The hot weather is now arriving in California with Los Angeles preparing for temperatures as high as 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

As well as health risks, the hot weather is expected to exacerbate wild fires in the US state.

The California Fire Department warned the County Fire has potential to grow as the weather worsens.

They said it had already left 86,000 acres burned and was only 30 percent contained.

And lightning in the Rocky Mountains area could spark new wildfires.

In Utah the burning Dollar Ridge Fire has already destroyed 90 homes and sparked the evacuations of hundreds.

The fire has now left 42,000 acres burned and was only 4 percent contained.
